Sebum, produced naturally by the body, is secreted onto the skin through pores
to prevent moisture loss from the underlying tissues. Sebum production
varies from person to person, but frequent washing with soaps or detergents can
dry out the skin and leave it rough and flaking. The skin on the hands is
particularly susceptible to damage. Irritation can cause itching, and
scratching can open the skin to infection. Children have scanty sebum
secretion and, therefore, dry, sensitive skin.
Why does Pharm-Aloe® Whole Leaf Aloe Vera work?
Pharm-Aloe® Whole Leaf Aloe Vera contains lignins which help it penetrate deep
into the skin to deliver its therapeutic effects. Polysaccharides make it
a natural moisturizer.
